Advantages over traditional typewriter:
- more formatting features
- save, modified, reuse of documents
- more advanced functions: Grammar checker, thesaurus, mail merge (Practical 2)

Prepare Data (Spreadsheet, database, Table of MS-Word)
Preform mail merge

Basic operation:
Creating, saving, printing of documents
Insert text with keyboard, image scanner with OCR (Optical character recognition) software

To save environment, use print preview before printing.

- Text attributes: bold, Italics, underline, font size, font color etc.
- Insert and manipulate graphics, word art.
- organizing graphics and text with frames.

6.4 advanced word processing features
- Table of contents. (Generate table of contents) - use heading to define the TOC.
- Index
- footnotes
- Insert hyperlink, bookmark
- Auto Correct
- Automation and predefined formatting
